1. Restocking Inventory After Upload:-
You may get an error when trying to sell an item: "The quantity selected for the item is greater than the stock on hand."
This means:
- You have run out of stock, OR
- The quantity you're trying to sell is more than the current stock level.
How to Fix
To solve this, you must restock the item :
- Log into Tyms
- Go to Inventory > Restock
- Select the item and enter the new stock quantity. 📘 Read the Restock Guide
2. Inventory Adjustment
Inventory adjustments are essential for keeping your stock records accurate and up to date. Tyms allows you to manually adjust inventory in two key ways:
Types of Inventory Adjustments on Tyms
1. Stock Quantity Adjustment
You can use this to either:
- Increase stock (e.g., received new items not captured earlier)
- Reduce stock (e.g., due to damage, loss, or audit corrections)
How to Adjust Quantity:
- To increase stock: Enter the positive quantity (e.g., 20)
To reduce stock: Enter the negative quantity (e.g., -5)
💡 This helps keep your physical stock and system records in sync.
2. Price Adjustment
If the cost price of an item has changed, you can update it using the inventory adjustment feature.
Note: This does not affect previously sold items, but it updates the cost price for future purchases or stock tracking.
3. Avoiding Common Errors
To prevent errors during inventory adjustment, make sure of the following:
Fill All Required Fields: All fields marked with a red asterisk ( * ) are mandatory. These typically include:
- Item Name
- Adjustment Type (Stock or Price)
- Adjustment Amount
- Reason for Adjustment
- Date
❗ Failing to fill these fields will result in an error or failed submission.
Tips for Successful Inventory Adjustments
- Always double-check the item name and SKU to ensure you're adjusting the correct item.
- Use clear, concise reasons for the adjustment (e.g., "Damaged during delivery", "Price increase from supplier").
- Keep a record of all adjustments for audit and reporting purposes.
- After adjustments, cross-verify with your stock quantity on the All items page to confirm the changes reflected properly.
