With item categorization in Tyms Accounting, you can better organize your inventory by creating specific categories for different items. This makes it easier to manage and locate items when needed.
Getting Started
- Log into your Tyms dashboard and navigate to the Inventory Module.
- Click the “New” button and select “Item Category”.
Creating a New Item Category
- Enter a Reference Number for the category.
- Provide a Category Name.
- Optionally, add a Description to give more context about the category.
- Once you’ve entered all the details, click “Save”.
- After saving, your newly created category will appear under the Item Categories Tab.
- You’ll have the option to Edit or Delete the category if needed.
Assigning a Category to an Item
For New Items:
- When creating a new item, navigate to the Item Category field.
- Select the desired category from the dropdown.
For Existing Items:
- Open the Edit option for the existing item.
- Scroll down to the Item Category field.
- Select one or multiple categories from the dropdown.
- (Note: You must create item categories first for them to appear in the dropdown menu.)
- Click “Save” to update the item with the new category.
Viewing Items by Category
- Go to the Filter option in your inventory.
- Select the desired Category in the filter.
- All items associated with the selected category will be displayed.
With these steps, managing and organizing your inventory by category becomes simple and efficient.
